Twence CCU

SLB Capturi has successfully delivered a 100,000 tonnes carbon capture and liquefaction facility for the Twence waste-to-energy plant in the Netherlands. The produced CO₂ is of food-grade quality and will be transported to nearby greenhouses to increase the yield of flowers and vegetables.

The carbon capture plant is based on SLB Capturi’s standard, modular Just Catch™ design, which reduces onsite installation and outfitting work - providing a more cost-efficient and easier-to-deploy option compared with other market alternatives. The plant comprises three process containers and one E&I container for local control. Containers and associated external piping and structures were prefabricated offsite and transported by truck to the plant. The columns, fan, and steam reboiler were delivered directly to the site for easy integration with the containers.

The plant is fully automated and utilizes the Advanced Carbon Capture Technology™ process with SLB Capturi’s proprietary, best-in-class HSE solvent.

The facility was handed over to the customer in January 2025 and is now operational.
